Orange HM

Im just curious about this new lovley boy I just bought :) id really like to breed him, but Im not an "expert" when it comes to breeding and I don't want bad offspring. So my question is, would be be bred able? and showable?

I hope this is the right forum to be posting this about :)

I think he's breedable. He's got a slight spoonhead and the first rays on the dorsal should ideally be as long as the rest but that's okay. You can work on it. And his anal fin looked like it had some extensions but he's an otherwise nice looking boy

He is an orange dragon. You have to improve his dragon scales - make it full dragon (totally white body and orange fins). You also need to improve his dorsal - make it lean forward. Finally you have to get rid of the dip on his head.

Advised female - red/yellow/orange dragon, has bullet shaped body, equal fin lengths, dorsal opens like a fan.

A DT female would also be great.

^^ indjo has you covered on body critique.. he is workable with the right girl.

As for showable.. nope. He would be rejected firstly due to being a pet shop fish, and he has too many faults.. a pretty boy and a good start to a nice line though :)

For reference here is one that had won a category at the IBC convention/show very recently. You can see the standards for show are very high, and you generally will not find that in a store.. the people selling the bettas to the wholesellers will always take out the best before sending them out. Here is a video of 2 that recently won BOS/RBOS at the CBS show this month as well. Your guy is very lovely and with the right girl and breeding the right offspring you could easily get into the shows with a line from him :)
