RusselTheShihTzu! Do you have any betta pets? I would love to see them. That boy is very pretty.

Yep.

Here's Si, Willie, and two new unnamed boys who arrive today. Si and Willie were only about 2.5 months old in these photos. It's amazing what good photography can do, isn't it? Both Willie and Si are much prettier than these pictures show. Si isn't stumpy.

Wow, all very pretty, especially the new boys in town. Any plans to breed them?

Thank you. I think so, too, but "no" to breeding. They're pretty but, IMO, not of quality enough to be bred.

Si and the unnamed duo will be in a heavily-planted, divided 20 long (4 gallons on each end and 12 in the middle). Si will be in the middle with Red Cherry Shrimp, Thai Micro Crabs and Dwarf Orange Crayfish since he's invert-friendly. I may place Willie (who'll remain in a five) with someone else since he hunts inverts down and kills them.

I'm hoping the two new guys will be invert accepting since the RCS could conceivably get through the dividers. Time will tell, I guess. If either of the new guys is invert intolerant like Willie, I'll place that one instead. I never realized how much I could love inverts!

Due to space, I'm limited to three Bettas. The second new boy was an impulse buy. Gotta watch out for those.

Yeah, I would like to have all those good little shrimp and crabs one day. At the moment, there's just too much work to be done with bettas lol. And I hardly get the time to enjoy them, except during water change and feeding. :P

Mine live on my end table so I'm with them whenever I watch TV, read, get on the laptop or groom Russell. Retirement has its perks.

I'm jealous. I use to keep a few in my room, but cleaning became such a hassle as I had at least a hundred to clean in patio room. By that time, I'm waaaay too exhausted. Just gave up and left it all in one place where cleaning is most convenient haha. I'm actually down to 40ish bettas now... I think lol. Might place some back in the room for enjoyment again. :)
