IAL substitute

I decided to try the oak leaves instead of ordering IAL. They work great. My ph before was over 8.6, now its down to 7.4. Both my bettas are more active also.

Yes I'm also about to try Oak leaves as well! Not for the pH since it's already 6.5 lol but for the tannins for my little boy who's healing from fin rot and a split in his anal fin and hopefully I can keep up with a leaf litter of them in that tank instead of substrate or at least a combination

I take mine and make tea bag like things with a coffee filter. Then hang in 5 gallons of water for 24-36 hours then use the water for my tanks. I have 1-2 gallon bare bottom jars for all my breeders so it makes it really easy when I change the water everyother day. Also great for the spawn tanks.
