Likewise, my black betta is the only one I've seen so far at Petco, or any of my LFS for that matter. Just had to get him when I saw him. Of course, I'm looking for a nice opaque white betta now, to go on the other side of the divided 10 gallon tank the black HM will be going in after quarantine, but this is so far also proving to be a futile effort. Has anyone seen any white (not cellophane, but real white) bettas at any of their stores?

Fishyinpa, thanks for showing us the video! He's so gorgeous. Elvis has a larger tail than my little guy, and I noticed when he flares in your video that his tail rays are much more pronounced, they almost look silver or white. Is that simply a trick of the camera or are they really like that on your betta? On mine you really can't see a difference between the rays and the webbing even when he does flare.

I've seen a few white ones at my Petsmart. I thought my female was white when I got her but she turned pink! When I first got her, she looked kind of like mother of pearl.

I think feeding them brine shrimp can do something to their color. I think it enhances oranges, reds and pinks or something like that.

The bad thing, for me, about feeding brine shrimp is that it sinks! They'll just sit there and watch it go to the bottom. Grrr. I hate when that happens!
