Betta Toys?

How would you do something like that?
I set the cap of a water bottle in the tank and he looked at it with this "What do hell is that ???!!!!!!" look, is this a good thing? Is it safe to leave it like that?

Usually people put treats in the bottle cap and leave it for their Betta to try to figure out how to get the treat out. I don't know that they leave them all the time though. Others take small ping pong balls and leave those in the tanks all the time to play with.

Wouldn't even a small ping pong ball be big for a betta? lol

How does the cap holding a treat thing work?

Any other ways for one to play with a betta :D
I got a fin bitter so I am trying to distract him. lol

Get a small mirror he should flare at it when he sees his reflection

I tried this several times and he just swam away from it.
He did flare at the heater though. Before he started fin bitting he always sat next to the heater and occasional flared at it. He also would (seem) to try and not let me look at the heater, if he caught me looking at it, he would fan his tail in front of it lol.
But since his fin bitting episode he has been more of a bottom/mid water dweler.

Since ping pong balls float, they don't take up much space, and your fish can push it around with its nose. Unless you have a very small tank, this should work just fine.

You put a treat in the cap and let your fish see you do it, perhaps make your fish think you are going to feed him, then plop the treat into the cap instead. Then float the cap in the tank. Your fish will probably push it around with its nose and it should flip over fairly easily. Once your fish realizes the treat is in there, you won't have any problems getting him to play with it to try to get treats out.

Mirrors are good, but sometimes too much exposure to their reflections can stress them out and excessive flaring can cause fin ripping.

Some people have had luck with their fish playing with moss balls, apparently, they like to push them around the bottoms of the tanks.

Also, lots and lots of hiding places and places to explore may help cut down with the biting.

Thanks for the advice :D
I think now I have enough hiding spots, and when I floated a cap, it eventually made its way to the filter and stayed there, does that mean I have a current? The filter is really soft but it is constantly on lol
