It's night time now and he still has a swollen belly. I would like to give him some Epsom salt but I don't want to be hasty with the treatment.

I didn't feed him last night in hopes to make the swelling shrink. It's smaller now but it's still swollen and white. No change in behavior but I'm worried these might be the signs of dropsy.

Do you know the lat time he pooped? If so, did it look normal?

How did you treat for ich? For how long? (If you used aquarium salt, it can contribute to fluid retention.)

You can either fast for a day to see if it goes down, or if you want, you can use Epsom salt. I'd use 0.5 teaspoons Epsom salt per gallon. You may want to put him in a smaller tank, rather than treat him in the 10 gal. It can take a day or two for the Epsom salt to have an effect.

He pooped yesterday. It was in one chunk, brown colored, no sign of white in it. I treated the ich with heat at 86F for a week. It went away one day and I kept him in the hospital tank for 4 days before returning him to the big tank. I'm fasting him for today and I hope that it will go away.
