Covers for 1 gallon tanks

Hi there. I have 3 beautiful bettas. I got the fish when I had no other animals, but I recently got a cat. He hasn't shown much interest in my fish so far, but right now I am keeping a plate on their tanks when I am not home. I want something a little more safer and also to be used more long term to prevent jumping.

I was thinking like a mesh or wire cover maybe that fits snuggly on the top?

Gustavo, Fernando, and Alejandro are all in one gallon tanks with heaters and are doing well! I change their water 2x per week. :)

What do you guys use for your one gallons?

this is a 2.5, but same principle.

Craft mesh, and either sew it with fishing line, or hot glue it.
