Exclamation Divided Tank Question

I have a regular 5.5 gallon glass tank. I was wondering how I would divide it if I wanted to. What material? How would the filter and heater work since it they would have to be on one side or the other? Any other obstacles?

You could buy dividers from pet stores. There are spaces between them so the water still moves through the tank. ;)

Or you could do a search on this forum for dividers you make yourself for about $1.

I would go the diy route for sure. Deviders are a lot more thanif you made one. I'm contemplating trying to make one from fabric right now. ..

So I found this video of someone making one. The only thing is that I would like to make sure the sides stay where they are supposed to be. Are there any glues or something that would be safe for the fish to use?

I use Plexiglass for dividers- you just cut it and slip it in, it usually fits like a glove! I have to scratch the surface with sand paper and steel wool, as it's very clear, but now neither boy can see the other!
