that is what I originally thought to do but I wasnt sure how to solve the filtration and heating ordeal. did you drill holes into it?

I recommend it! it wasnt had to do at all and it literally cost 9 dollars (poster sides were 6). I wouldnt mind sealing the sides off just to be safe but other than that I am very pleased with the turnout

My dividers are opaque Plexiglas with .25" holes drilled through for filtration and heat efficiency.

Be careful if your tank's acrylic as the Plexiglas will scratch if you don't have some sort of "guide".

I made my own using craft mesh and those plastic report cover binders. Mine arent sealed in place though. If you have sand, be careful when you siphon/add water back in. The current can move the sand away from the divider and create a hole big enough for them to go visit their neighbor.

In one 10 gallon, I added 2 small sponge filters - one in each compartment. In another, I have your basic HOB filter but the compartment on the far side is always alot more dirty then the side with the filter.

I have been doing lots of research on tank dividers. I found these suction cup things that hold dividers in place as long as the divider is only 4mm thick.

I saw someone use normal suction cups to hold the diver in place. Kind of wedge the divider between the suction cups nubs. That's what I am going to try with a sheet of acrylic.

The suction cup idea is pretty good maybe ill try that. I bet plexi glass or acrylic would look better than my plastic mesh so I might try that as well
