one of my black skirt tetras is wanting to lay on the gravel. he swims around a bit to go back and lay down. Rest of fish not doing it.
20 gallon high: 20-40 filter, heater, 1 ADF, 8 ghost shrimp, 9 neon tetras, 5-6 black skirt tetras, 1 snail. Using prime.
How's your tetra this morning? If you can I'd remove him/her & QT if possible. What is his physical appearance; faded color, bloated, nipped fins, breathing hard, etc? Appetite? When was your last water change & how big? Have you tested your water for ammonia, nitrites & nitrates? I know you said everyone else is acting normal; I always start with a water test when somebody is acting abnormal. Not sure I'll be able to help but the more info. the better.
He was dead this morning in his little qt tank . He had looked ok. Minus hiding and suddenly laying down after wayer change. I have another littler one in hiding and not eating. I do a 10-20 percent water change every day. The amonnia had spiked 2 weeks ago so i had been changing and using prime. All the neons are ok and they are way more sensitive to conditions. The bigger fatter skirts are happy n chasing each other. They been ok for 2 weeks. I took out a tall plant and they were chocked about that the day before.
