Reading this thermometer

hey i dont have a lot of money to buy a fancy thermometer so i bought this strip one for under 3 dollars but im not sure how to read it here is a picture

there thermeter does not have any blocks coloured sometimes so i run my finer over it and either the block beside 76 78 or 80 will turn a colour either orange/red or blue but some times one will turn blue and the one above it orange red yellow or w/e which is the one i read

I hate to tell you this but I got one too, to save money and they aren't accurate. I have a glass one that has a suction cup on it. They're far more accurate but I don't like them because they are hard for me to read. Then I spent money on a digital thermometer and it works ok. It's about 1 degree off.

I'd have to recommend a simple glass thermometer as well. They're more accurate. As for not being able to read it, how cold is the water? Potentially it could be so cold the thermometer doesn't read it.

The numbers on the glass ones are too small for me to read. I have vision problems and small print is very hard for me to read.

I have one on each of my fish tanks and I like them very much (I also have a glass one for when I want to be really really accurate.). Mine only lists even numbers. (70, 72, 74, 76, etc.) So if 74 and 76 are both "lit up" than it is 75. If both 76 and 78 are lit up it is 77. The colors don't matter at all.

I have one like that too, iff 2 numbers are lit up, it means it's the middle number. I use a strip therm. and a glass one.
