Stress lines from flaring?

My betta might be constipated so I read online that making him flare might make him poop. So I did so, and he pooped a little bit (yay), but he started freaking out so I immediately removed the mirror.... Now he has this line horizontally across him, from his head back to his fins. The part where the anal fins are attached to the body are also a bit brown. This happened right when he flared. I'm very worried right now... What should I do?

I'm no complete expert, but my advice would be to turn off his light and just give him some time to calm down. Maybe cover his tank. My Red gets lines on water change day. He HATES it, but calms down pretty quickly.

I think he's calmed down now, but he still gets a bit scared when I come closer. I gave him some food and I guess that made him happy.

I give my boy a bloodworm or two after his cleaning, too. I like to believe that it helps change it into a positive experience. Red is skittish of hands hands still.. unless his food is on my fingers.

I'm your boy calmed down :) Sometimes things are just more stressful than usual, is all.
