Works in progress (redecorating)

Making the best of temporary accommodations, I redecorated my 1.5's recently. Our giant (a gift from Feng), has settled in and his temporary setup is fixed (bad ornament issues). So here are my tanks (minus the ACF tank, it's not a display piece at all). Once we move, most of the males will get divided tanks, except Norbert, who has proven a repeat offender in Fence Jumping, Don Quixote (who adopted Mike), and The Gruffalo, who will just receive upgrades from 1.5's to 2.5's.

Lazarus (giant) 5 gal

Skerries 1.5

Mushu 1.5

Don Quixote 1.5

Dread Pirate Norbert 1.5

Doctor Hu (lol) 2.5

Pancake (ADF) planted 2.5 (also with 2 ramshorns, 2 malaysian trumpet snails, 2 cherry shrimp, and 3 pygmy cories (so they can safely spawn))

Prince Gruffalo

This community tank is currently undergoing some changes. Live plants are on order (from Aemaki), and so we're hoping to completely revamp this one!

Wow. Your tanks are beautiful!
If I may ask, is the red house in Don Quixote's tank made of legos?
And is Mushu's cave a styrofoam cup? I really want to give Itchy, my betta, a place for him to hide.

For the plastic mesh, how do you keep it in the rolled up position? I'm making a divider and if I have any extra mesh I'm going to cover the intake.

the red houses in Mushu and Skerries tanks are "Duplo" cabins for I do believe a train set (I stole them from a box of my fiance's legos from when he was a munchkin!)

The white cup in Don Quixote's tank is actually a ceramic flower pot that my money tree came in when I bought it a few months ago (tree outgrew it, and the bettas like it)

As for the mesh tubes, I sew the ends together with spiderwire fishing line!

My fiance makes intake guards out of crafting mesh also. He makes a hammock (above), then cuts a circle and sews it to one end of the tube to make a bottom. He puts filter floss or the material used in carbon filters (the outer bag) to keep the mesh onto the intake, and to pre-filter the incoming water.

Do you think Legos are safe for aquariums? Cuz I have a lot from when I was a kid. Maybe I can build a house for Itchy! He's been biting his tails and I don't have a lot to give him.

I actually got the idea from quite a few tanks with lego decor. I never had a single problem with them when my girls used them in their QT.

I felt sorry for my poor, poor giant who had to chase his food as the filter would blow it away, so I decided to make him a feeding ring! We were testing it out in this photo (this was after I got him to stop swimming THROUGH it, so I could set it up right... goober)
