I have 3 males. I have a feeling one will be dying shortly . . . so I may have to continue this obsession and get another one. (I can't imagine if I didn't have my mom to stop me what I would already have by now!)

Yeah, it's sad when we lose one of our bettas but the good part is that we get to have another one.

I'm prepared for power outages. I got some heat packs used for shipping fish. I'll put them in small containers and put them in coolers with the heat packs.

I have wood heat, and electric so I never have to worry about it getting cold here,
I have to keep our temps at 80 here due to health reason for hubby.

That's the one thing about having a wood stove, You can still cook and keep warm, :)
My well is Dug and never goes dry, (tried to drain it and couldn't) so we can scoop out water with a bucket on a rope if need be,, Have food enough to feed a dozen for well over a yr if needed, So I could just shut my doors and live fine if needed..

That's great. So you're prepared for any sort of disaster.

great idea, guys! I got small critter keepers with heating packs and small towels to keep in the heat ready in my closet so I can take them out just in case, now that I know the damage that can be done.

I bought my heat packs from Marine Depot. We have had 2 power outages in the last 6 months.
