Three gallon cycled tank

How often (and how much) should I change a 3 gallon cycled tank? I have a real plant and an undergravel filter.

Well first off I would recommend you do ammonia and nitrire tests every week,

I have alot of 3 gallon cycled tanks and they have a habit of loosing there cycles every now and again,

If you should loose that cycle you need much more frequent water changes,

You need to watch your fish for any signs of trouble, run test checks if anything seems not normal..

Otherwise for only one betta in a 3 gallon cycled tank, a water change once a week is good

Personally I'd get rid of the underground filter, Just collects garbage anyways,
Plus I have had several fish get caught up in them somehow.

Wouldn't getting rid of the filter make it harder to maintain the cycle?

I think its safer to leave the filter out for anything that small and just do water changes about once or twice a week,
You ain't gotta worry about the cycle process hurting your fish if the filter is removed.
You also will need to wash the gravel at least every other week, Because it can cause a cycle too.

If you want it cycled then leave the filter in, But make sure you keep up the weekly testing
