Huh. That's odd. Tian-tian sometimes does the same thing (except with a lot more bubbles). I'm about as confused as you are. Hmmm....

TY for the info, Yes his belly is pretty big. I give him 3 pellets of the BettaGold twice a day. Just like the package says. Should I try that Daphnia I read about on another Blog? Or will he be ok going without for a few days?

Try fasting him for a few days, then try the daphnia. I feed my bettas Hikari betta bio gold also, 2 pellets twice a day.

I think he is trying to make a buble nest,or hes just lazy.each betta has a personalitly just like us.put some kinda object in his tank that floats it will help him make a bubblenest,maybe his just keep popping, i think thats what the floatable serface is for.

how long have you had him? when i got bluey, for the first 3 days, he laid on a tiger lily leaf and stared at me thru the glass. I almost named him Snoozer, he was so lazy.

Air will destroy the bubble nests,
That's partly why a Styrofoam cup, Banana peel, Leaf etc is used, It protects the nest from the air and popping,
Plus it keeps his nest together thus making the male betta more secure in his work and happier,
