Large Growing Lump on my Betta's Side

3 months ago, as I was putting my betta back into the tank after a water change, he jumped around and fell onto the edge of the tank, then into the water. He injured his right pectoral fin as well as a small area on his side (located directly behind the same injured pectoral fin). It looked like a small cut... or perhaps a bruise?? His fin has since 100% healed, however, the area behind the fin on his right side has not. In fact, it has grown into a large lump. I thought it was perhaps a scar, but 3 months later, it's continuing to increase in size. Has anyone heard/experienced this? What can I do to help him? I've attached a few photos. Thanks!

Housing
What size is your tank? 5 Gallon
What temperature is your tank? 78-80 degrees
Does your tank have a filter? Yes
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? No
Is your tank heated? Yes
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? None

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? ZooMed brand Pellets
How often do you feed your betta fish? 1-2 pellets a.m. & 1-2 pellets p.m.

How often do you perform a water change? 1x every 1 to 1.5 weeks.
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 50%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? SeaChem Prime water conditioner

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? Yes
If so, what are the following parameters?

Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate: 5 ppm
pH: 7.5 - 8.0 (Is this acceptable? My city water source has a high ph. Betta seems okay with it for the past year.)
Hardness: n/a
Alkalinity: n/a

Symptoms and Treatment:
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? Large lump on right side
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? No change in behavior. Active & eating as usual.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? 3 months ago
Have you started treating your fish? No. Not sure how.

It looks like he has a tumor.

A fish can live with a tumor longer than expected, but tip top water conditions are needed to make their life span longer.

In a five gallon, you definitely need to be doing more water changes.

Your PH is fine (:

From what I can tell, I think he's pooping normally. How often and what amount of water should I be changing for my 5 gallon? Thanks!

For a cycled 5 gallon -
5-9gal with a filter
Weekly 50% with vacuum
Filter media needs a swish/rinse in old tank water a couple of times a month.

There isnt anything wrong with your water changes
