Hi guys. I'm a new betta owner! I was in a Petco, totally not intending to buy a fish, but there he was, and I fell in love. I was determined to do things right, so I did a lot of research. I got a cycled tank from a friend who was moving out, and she also gave me a tank heater and a bunch of fish supplies. So far, it's been a bit stressful. I've been worried about everything from fin rot to fish night-lights.
My avatar is my new fish. His name is Remus J. Lupin. He was sold to me as a Halfmoon betta, but I suspect he may not be. His fins are a little damaged from moving him from my friends house to my apartment, but they've already started to grow back. He lives in a 10-gallon and gets fed twice a day "Omega One Betta Buffet" (I have no idea if that's good, but he seems to love it). He shares his tank with a Marimo.
I found this forum while doing some of the research, and I hope I never have to spend too much time in the sick fish forum.
Remus seems happy, blows bubbles, and swims energetically.
