Water

I have a 2 and 2 one gallon tanks. In order to ensure I always have water to change the tanks with and to make my life a little easier I bought a food grade huge container to keep conditioned water in. I go through it pretty fast but I'm curious how long water can sit in the container before it has to be emptied and refilled with fresh water. Any idea? Is there a time limit for the oxygen?

If you're using water conditioner you don't have to sit water out. I have a 5g bucket that's strictly for new water, I fill it up, add my conditioner, clean the tank & pour in the new water. Sorry, I know that doesn't answer your question. When I used to sit water out I always used it within 24-48hrs, I don't think I'd go more than 3-4 days but that's more just my own personal thing.

I don't know, but my uncle used to keep water for his 30 gallon tank in a large, plastic trash can. He lined it with a clean trash bag and then covered it, and kept it there to use as needed.

Water

I have recycled distilled water gallon jugs (humidifier) that I fill and use for replacement water in changes. They sit for a week since they are refilled immediately after a WC. I haven't seen any effect on the fish,

My tanks have a film of tiny air bubbles on the glass overnight after the tanks are refilled. The bubbles are gone in the morning.

I condition the water immediately after refilling w/ Dr, Foster & Smith chlorine remover.
