Ceramic Pot: Sticker Residue?

I have this really adorable fired ceramic pot that says "chill pills" on it, and it has a spot of sticker residue - is it aquarium safe, will the sticker residue harm my fish, and is there any safe reliable method of removing the residue? Hot water and scrubbing is only scalding my fingers and making me frustrated.

Vinegar maybe? Let it soak then used a razor blade. Rubbing alcohol might work. Then clean it really well & let it dry for a few days. The only other thing I've ever used but not for something going into my tank was lighter fluid.

Thanks. I might try adding it later, but for now I'm just letting it... chill.
