I have the Marineland visitherm 25 watt stealth in my 4 gallon plastic. No problem so far. Just check it periodically to make sure there is no problem.

Good to know that the heater I ordered will work fine with a plastic tank.

When you do a 25% to 50% partial water change, how do you get your replacement water (the new conditioned water) up to the same temperature as the tank water temp, before adding it to the tank?

use a temperature stick and add hot or cold water as needed to get the desired temperature

Thanks! That seems so obvious now that you mention it.

I was still thinking on the "leave water sitting out for a while to reach room temperature" technique of getting water ready for water change. I never made the leap to adding hotter water to the container to get the right temp. LOL.
