Daphnia are also called water fleas. They are crustaceans and not insects. They are available in freeze dried or frozen forms and are available in petstores.I feed mine the freeze dried daphnia and its really tiny.

Thank you, my 4yr old is fun to watch with him, She will sit there and talk to Red, and Red will go to her side of his bowl and looks like he's listening LOL Right now I have him in a 1 gal fish bowl. I felt soo bad for him cause he was in a cup. I made sure the bowl was the same temp as his cup and put him in it. I then accidetly put way too much food in the bowl. :( I will be putting him in his 10gal tank later today. He's curious about what's goin on. I think he was scared at 1st with the switch til he realized he was in a bigger container. He seemed to eat some last night. I was gonna keep the water in the 1 gal but then I thought duh, that would go bad.

Yeah, they'll sit there and look at you like they understand every word you say to them. lol I'm sure he'll enjoy his new home.

I put him into his 10gal tank about 2 hours ago, his fins seem go open allot more now and he seems to be happy now, I gotta get him some stuff yet. My hubby's not too happy cause we really don't have much money.

You don't have to buy the stuf all at once. Just pick up a few things here and there.

That's what I plan I doin. Just tryin to figure what to get 1st lol . I'm uploadin pix to my facebook then I'll go from there to send in a pic of Red.
