I think my Beta is dying. :(

I've had my Beta for about 6 months. He lives in a nice 2 gallon tank with a light that keeps the water temp at about mid 70's. For the last month he has not been swimming around alot but came up to eat. Now he just lies on the bottom of the tank, He seems to be scared of me and swims away when I get him to move. What is happening?

How exactly are you "getting him to move" ?

We need more information than what you're saying here to be able to help.
Please answer these and then we should have something to work with.

I had a betta a couple of weeks ago that did this exact same thing... only he also would swim around in circles endlessly very very slowly. He did die not long after I noticed this. This isn't to say yours will...when did you change your water last? .. You could try Betta Revive... I have tried this with a sluggish fish in the past and it did help.. he did pick up.. however I'm not sure how fabulous this stuff is as it may have been a coincidence... its $1.99 from petco...

I agree, we need more info please. Does the light provide the heat? Is it turned off at night? I'm suspecting a temp problem, but without more info I can't really say with any certainty.
