Here are some pics I just took of Esau today. He keeps lying on his side and when he swims its like frantic or something. I have tried Epsom salt for awhile now and he is still not better. Also there seems to be something wrong with his gills and I tried taking several pics at different angles. So I hope you guys can help me with this as its been happening along time.

Other people told me to stop using aquarium salt because it would do more damage. Why is his eyes so big and why is it black underneath his chin where the opening is? So very confused. Does he have popeye as well or are other things going on as well? Just wanna help the poor guy feel better. Also he's by himself and nothing else is in the tank besides his water and the Epsom salt.

Depending on the "black" under you are talking about sounds like part of his gills when he would flare you would see them come out. That is normal.

Can you get API Triple-Sulfa? That will treat Popeye (although I'm not sure if that is Popeye or just the angle of the pictures) and your gill problems.

Use gloves to handle it and buy a mask so you don't breathe it in.

I'm going to stop responding on this thread, and start responding on your other one. Please stop opening multiple threads on the same fish. It makes it hard to follow what others have advised you to do.
