What should I look for in a female for this boy?

Hey guys, I've bought a yellow HM betta. He's the first yellow I saw that didn't have a super long anal fin. I'd really like to breed him! I know his line isn't straight enough, so if I can find a yellow female with a good straight line will I be good to go? Have y'all seen any nice yellow females that might suit him?

His top line actually isn't bad, you just want something that's smooth and not bumpy which he's very close to!

I'd try to find a girl who's anal is straight and on the smaller side, also a HM girl who has 4-6 ray's I think would be idea because he's on the edge of Rose Tailing which can lead to fin bitting and bad stuff. So I think those are the main things to look for besides a nice smooth top line ^_^

I'll keep my eyes out on AB to see if I see any girls for him!

Hahaha Yeah I was SO annoyed. The seller said he'd send a picture of the girl tomorrow, so if she's as nice as he is I have high expectations. I think I'll breed them first! My dad said he'd take a baby off the yellow pair. I think he's getting into my hobby!

Lol I got my mom into bettas. I really want to breed but I just move and money is tight. So I'm going to have to wait awhile.

Yeah I totally understand. I am moving back to my parents place from college while Im looking for a job, so my grad money is taking care of the initial investment for the fish, or at least some of it. I have a 55 gallon reptile tank that I plan to apply aquarium sealant to and use as a grow out. And I have an extra 10 gallon for breeding. I'm hoping if I breed this fish first I'll get babies that will make up for a decent bit of the cost. People seem to like yellow!

If you want some of the fry I'll bring you some juveniles, since you live close enough! My 55 gallon is only good for 40-50 fry, so I'll need to pass along juveniles!
