Fry tank maid.

Thank you all for your advise. From the looks of it, I haven't lost a single fry yet (unless Daddy Max consumed a few, which is more likely the case) and they are happily free swimming being all kinds of cute. I did a rough count and there seems to be about 150+.

I have another question. To keep the bottom of the tank cleaner, would it be wise to add a bottom feeder? I have two mystery snails, some cory cats and a couple plecos. Would any of these be a suitable tank cleaners or would it be best to just stick to siphon cleaning only?

I'm sure this has been answered many times over but I didn't stumble on any forum topic.

If you add other fish or snail you will be adding extra waste. Because they will poop too. Just saying .

Some people put mystery snails into their grow-outs to clean up uneaten food, but as Snowflake has said, you need to take into consideration the waste/ammonia output of any additional tank mates.

I keep a few snails in the spawn and growout. Usually only 1. They clean up food and dead fry. I find that if I siphon a few hours after feeding they are all fat and happy so they move slow and hang out near the top so I can vacuum.
