Hi,
I'm new to owning a betta fish and I was a excited to receive one for my birthday. It's been ten days, and I haven't really figured out a name for him, but I'm a little worried he might kick the bucket before I place him in a 2g tank (I couldn't afford a 5g tank).I was wondering if he'll be okay in the condition he is in until I've completed his new home?

well it's not a tank perse. It seems my dad got this betta as a party center piece. I don't like it, but i have no where else to place him. The container looks like a vase.

I think he'll be fine until you get a 2 gallon, as long as you do frequent water changes. Its probably a half gallon or less so I'd change the water about every 2-3 days.

The betta will like the larger tank. thier very perky when they go from a small cup from the store. to what we have waiting for them at home,

Thank you for the tip dramaqueen. Well I've set up my betta's tank, but should I wait to transfer him into his bigger tank? Also if I place him from cold temperature to a warm temperature will he stress out since it is a quick temperature change?

I'd go ahead and put him in the new tank. He'll be fine in the warmer water.
