Lucky died over the weekend :(

He was getting better with the water changes and then he started looking not so good again. Before he had some fin rot, cloudy film over his left eye, and an open wound/sore on his face...then that was starting to clear up and he seemed better except his color kept going in and out all day like he was stressed or sick...and then he got a white bump or two on his face. When my coworker came in this morning he was dead (she gets in before me so she feeds him breakfast). :( Maybe it was just his time to go? He was at least 2 1/2 years old. I just hope he wasn't too uncomfortable in his final days. RIP lucky...you'll be missed!!!

I have an apple snail in the tank still...I should probably clean the water out huh? He probably died on friday or saturday and was in there awhile....? Full water change or partial?

Sadness....not sure if I will get another betta or not.

I'm really sorry to hear that you lost Lucky. I'd do a large water change. I think a complete water change would destroy your biological and affect the snail. I don't know anything about snails other than invertebrates don't share the same illness/disease as fish and that snails need calcium in their diets. There's not a worry in regards to cross contamination from fish to snail. Not sure how you should treat the tank if you're going to be adding a new betta to the tank. If it were me (and it's not) I'd thoroughly disinfect the tank, recycle it, and add a new betta.

I'm so sorry about Lucky. He had a lot of tlc during his final days. RIP Lucky.
