It looks really cool and I really like the assortment of plants and fish (I don't know what to call the other guys). Must be fun to watch.

My mom wants some low light plants that stay small. Besides java fern and petite Anubis any idea?

I don't really know. I just buy and try and use root tabs and Seacham Flourish Comprehensive.

I forgot: My absolute favorite plant in there is Pogostemon helferi or 'Downoi'. The top picture:
