update on little miss ladybug..

hey all, just wanted to share a little update about ladybug, and say thank you to everyone who responded to my first post!

i got her a heater, and she's doing great. she's such a funny little fish. as soon as i get up i see her swim out from her plants like she's saying "hi!! good morning!", and every time i go to feed her, she's always right there at the top of her tank waiting. i've yet to meet such an awesome little fish. she's done great throughout the water changes also.

one thing i do have a question about though..when i drop her pellets into her tank, its as if shes trying to attack my fingers haha. i feed her as instructed, no bloating or anything, so i'm thinking that she's just a sassy one. i really wanted to get her a tank mate, but now that i've seen her be pretty aggressive towards my fingers, i'm thinking i shouldn't do that. what do you guys think?

What kind of tank mate and what size is your tank? I'm sure you know bettas aren't good together...

She's fine by herself. She sounds like a feisty little thing. lol The females have as much personality as the males.

well i was thinking about getting some neon tetras. something small, just to introduce her to. i switched her to a 1 gallon tank about a week ago, and now that i think about it, i'm thinking it might be too small for her.

drama queen, i agree haha, i'm thinking i picked up one beasty little girl. it makes me feel good though because when she was in her tiny little cup she would barely move around, and now that shes in her tank she looks like shes really happy.

You might be able to get away with some neons, but not in a 1 gallon. I wouldn't do it unless you had at least a 10gallon, and even then it would still be risky.

I agree. a one gallon is borderline o small for one betta alone!

If you get a bigger tank neons would be great I have some with my female, she is probably jumping to grab the food out of your hands, mine does that even after I drop it because she thinks Im still holding it, they have kinda slow reflexes.
