I fast mine once a week. I felt guilty at first for doing it. I felt like I was depriving them. lol

Why do you fast a betta? I have heard of that before, but I never really knew why.
Sometimes I forget to feed them. I feed them twice a day, two pellets each time. They always act like they want more, more, more! Nutty little things.

Several of us on here fast our bettas once a week to help clean their digestive tract to help prevent constipation. The next day I feed daphnia which helps to keep their digestive tract healthy. At least thats what I've heard.

What is daphnia, and can I get it from wally world? I've heard it mentioned a few times in here.

Daphnia are also called water fleas but are crustaceans, not insects. You can get them at the petstore, either frozen or freeze dried. I use the freeze dried. I don't know if Walmart would have them or not.
