Steve is still not eating and now he's hiding at the bottom of his cage and hardly moving. He's got a bit of a white film on his back too. I don't really know how to treat him for that and I'm worried about the guy.

Now I did buy him at a Petsmart, probably a bad move but my last couple fish that lived for 4 years were actually Walmart fish so I figured they couldn't be any worse

Our little Harold is doing just what your Steve is doing! He's hanging at the heater or in his cave and not eating a whole lot. Water levels are good, he's eliminating, he's swimming just fine... (when he feels like it...) He's a new fish also, and I have been told by the lovely people here that he's likely just adjusting. The fact that your new fish is acting exactly the same makes me slightly less paranoid lol. I'm going to try tempting Harold with some bloodworms tonight also. Good luck!
