Bubbles On The Surface

I bought everyone at work a Betta fish for their desk. They all love them. They have names for them, talk to them, and really are into them. However, the fish are producing these bubbles that lay on the top of the water. Today, my fish even had white foam on top of the bubbles. The fish seem extremely healthy, and show no signs of sickness. I have had Betta fish for years. I have never seen this before. Can someone tell me why this is happeneing?
