Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself. I have kept bettas since I was a teenager, and was hoping to get into breeding them again. Not to make myself sound too old, the last time I was into breeding bettas, crowntails and doubletails did not exist, and the fanciest colors one could hope to find in your local fish store were maybe a nice cambodian or if you were real lucky, maybe a butterfly pattern.
I currently have a few crowntails that I am interested working with. I bought some females from work (I work a few days a week at a very large independently owned pet store here in sunny San Diego). The gold female I have is my avatar, I also have a blue marble-ish female that lives with her. I also recently purchased a couple of powder blue with white and red males (in separate living quarters, of course). They are all young, and I am working on conditioning the boys, as well as getting one of my baby tanks ready for them. I'm working on getting some good pictures of them to post
I am so excited to find this site! There are so many beautiful fishes that you all keep, and so much information here, it will keep me busy for a while.
I did have a question to start with, is there a page on here that would have some basic information on what traits in bettas are dominant and which are recessive?
