Talking new betta owner, and i want another!

I was wondering if you can have a betta fish in a vase with about 1 and a half gallon of water. or would that be not ok? i would keep it by my desk, and maybe a heater with it in the winter. of course i would scoop out old water every few days and put new in. can a betta fish be happy in a vase?
thanks, in advance.

I have had bettas that lived quite happily in a vase. Mine were half gallon but I would reccommend one bigger than that. I would go with 1 1/2 or 2 gallons, if possible .Be forewarned: Bettas are VERY addictive! The more you have the more you'll want! lol

I use a 3 US gal. tank for my betta. Plenty enough space for the fish. Have a heater in there which will only turn on when the water gets cold so I leave the heater in there all year round (in case of those cold summer nights). why'd you call him spunky? what does that mean?

The first betta I ever had was in a vase and he was happy :)
I think mine was 1 or 1 1/2 gallons.
