Heater question!

Hello all! I'm new here! I have a question about the Hydor Mini Heater (and I'm sorry if this question has been asked before) but I was wondering how long it takes to heat up the tank? My tank is 2 gallons, in case any of you are familiar with it, the tank is 2 gallons and it has a pillar in the middle that changes colors, and it also has some kind of filter that you put an air stone in and it makes bubbles.

Anyway, I got my Betta yesterday, and I'm being more cautious cause my last Betta died and we think it's because of the temp. Right now, the temp is about 71 and I know that's not good so I put in the Hydor Mini Heater, for 2-5 gallons, and the temp is the same. How long does it take for it to heat up because I love my Betta and I want to make sure it stays healthy and safe.

I have the same heater. I plugged mine in one night and by morning it had raised my 5 gallon 5 degrees. That's the maximum raise you will get with that heater.

Hello. I was the one who posted the heater question and I was wondering how long I should leave it plugged in? I usually plug it in the morning and at the afternoon I take it out, and it is raised about 5 degrees but drops a few hours later.

Should I leave it in longer? I don't plug it in over night, should I?

Me too, do those heaters have the built in thermostat,if so there is deffinitlly no problem leaving it in.

I don't think mine has a thermostat, but I have a thermometer that sticks to the outside of the tank so it measures the temp. But my heater is the Hydor Mini Heater so I don't think it has a thermostat.

You should get a thermometer that you can put in the tank, those are more accurate. I hate the kind that sticks to the outside and it just didn't work as well as the one that goes inside.
You should keep the hater in at all times because the water needs to be at about 78-80 degrees F.
It should take about 24 hours for the temp to steady at the mark it will stay.
