Smile Bored Betta

Yes, I think my Betta is bored. I was noticing Flare's tail fin was looking like it had been chewed on however he is alone in his tank so began to worry that maybe he was getting fin rot or something. Well I got to really watching Flare and noticed something quite funny...Flare was chasing his own tail fin. Yes... around and around he would go but wasn't able to catch it. Has any one else experienced this??? Is there anything I can do for Flare to keep him from being so bored hahaha.

It sounds to me like he''s a tail biter. Yes, they do catch their tails and chew on them. Maybe put a ping pong ball in his tank to push around or anything that is fish safe that floats. Maybe put in a new decoration or plant.

Finally figured out how to add my pic of FLARE to show all. He is fiesty that is for sure...I just love his personality. I have him at work with me and he watches me all the time. I wave my finger or just point at him and he dances for me. He hasn't been very good with bubble nests yet...not sure why..he tried and made a tiny patch of bubbles then that was it. As far as an update on him chasing his tail, he hasn't as much yesterday and today. guess he realized he couldn't catch it hahaha
