fins falling off

I have a Betta that's getting sicker and sicker and I can't figure out what to do. When I first got him around February, he was perfectly healthy. Sometime between then and now (say 3 months ago) my mom noticed his tail was starting to shrink. I looked into what it could be and fin rot is the closest thing I see to it. All his fins are shrinking and now it's so bad he has almost no tail and top fin.

He was in a cycled ten gallon with another Betta and a couple shrimp and I moved him to a three gallon quarantine tank and treated him with Bettafix two times but to no avail. The fins are still disintegrating.

What are some other things I can try and could it be something other than fin rot? He's not looking good at all; he can't swim and I feel like he's feeling ready to die soon.

Keep in mind I just moved and don't have that much money right now.

If he was in a tank with another betta, they probably fought. Jungle Fungus Eliminator is good for finrot.

And also...If he was in the 10 gallon when this shrinking started then the shrimp might have had something to do with it......Sometimes the tend to snack on Bettas fins....
Just keep him in the 3 gallon (alone) and try the Jungle Fungus Eliminator

Do what was mentioned above. If it is fin rot and it makes it to his body, there isn't much else you can do. I hope he gets better soon!

I didn't mention the tank was divided and though they did try to get to each other, they eventually forgot each other were there.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try that medication.

I have a question. I've heard good and bad things about Melafix. It's the only thing I can get. There's no petland or petsmart near me. I went today but I didn't think that Fishy and Blues finrot was getting worse. Do you think Melafix could help me?? I really need to know because I'm going to Walmart tomorrow morning. I feel horrible because fishy is missing a piece of his fin. Ugh.

I think I'd try Betta fix instead of Melafix. Its the same thing only a little milder.

So I've tried looking in a bunch of places but no one has the Jungle Fungus Eliminator. Is there a similar thing I can use?
