You did a great thing for the Betta neighbor! Maybe you could tell the people that you've fallen in love with him and would like another Betta, and offer to pay three dollars or something to take him off their hands. Money talks. Don't tell them you're trying to rescue him from their negligence. Just show them the money and say you'll take him home and take really good care of him!

good idea-Betta's seem to hate tanks without decorations... (mine does anyways, and puffed up at the little Mosquito fish) so I kept him in the big tank and he seems fine.

And I agree with giving them some money to take him home, just keep him in the vase till you can get a few things for the other tank you have.

Wow thats really nice of you. You should steal him and then just put some muddy water in the tank. They wont even notice hes gone and if they do they wont see through the water anyway.

Haha. Well actually i realized last night when i went over, the fish belonged to their little boy, Alex and hes like 9 years old, and he really loves him. He feeds him and stuff, and he said he got him for a birthday present. And i wont want to take something that he loves away from him... :( Also he knows ALOT about betta fish, hes very smart. He knows now that he has to clean the tank 2 times a week. AND YES i did check on the fish today and yesterday to see how he was doing, and his tank was still clean and Alex fed him and even showed me. So i think that the fish will be alright. (even though he IS in a small tank :l ) Oh well, maybe for his birthday or something i'll get him a bigger tank.. :)


Oh P.S i was happy to see a medium sized bubble nest at the top of the tank ;)
