Hmm... I would recommend a though tank change, it always makes my girls, espcially Hypolita who's prone to getting sick (my poor baby), she often changes colors rapidly after a though tank change. I would also recommend a pinch of aquairum salt, or even sea or table salt to help the fish.

i recently changed his tank onnn.....saturday i believe? could it be it needs to be changed again? and i'll try the salt thing today.

Im pretty sure that its External Parasites... If they are long wormlike things on his body, either hanging off or stuck to his body. Just do a 100 percent water change toget rid of the parasites and their eggs, ect. And add some aquarium salt.

thanks! it doesnt really look like that picture but maybe its close. i was checking him all of yesturday and it had went away and this morning he also did not have it so i'll check when i get home from school to see if he has it again!

either way im going to do the water change and the salt but just incase i cant get a ride to petco or another pet store for the aquarium salt will a little bit of table salt be ok just for today? or will that harm him?

I think just a little bit of table salt would do good :) I havent ever used table salt but im pretty sure it will, looking at other threads, i saw that some people used it. I only use aquarium salt.

hm well i'll see. i really wanna go to Petsmart (where he was bought for me) because the tank they bought me is too small i think compared to the other ones so i want to return it and pay the difference. hopefulllllyy i can go and pick up the stuff i need. i'll keep u all update(:

so i just finished washing his tank throughly and i was just curious if after i put in the water and the salt do i put my betta in right away or do i wait a couple of mintues? should i include the conditioner also? or just salt?

You definitely need to put the conditioner in. What I do when I add salt is put it in the water when I put conditioner in. I put my water in a gallon jug. I'll let it sit for about an hour to lket it get to room temperature.
