After Dropsy care, help!

Okay, as you may have read, we lost Lilith today from the dreaded dropsy.
She shared a 10 gallon with my girl Anna. As soon as I figured out the problem I took them both out and put them in quarantines. Anna is still lively and doing well. She is showing no signs of dropsy so I'm hoping none of the bacteria got to her.
I've read that the condition itself isn't contagious, just the bacteria from the condition. I am planning on keeping Anna quarantined for a few days to make sure she doesn't show any signs of dropsy.

Here is where I need the help. How soon would she show signs if she was infected? How long should I keep her quarantined before I can safely put her back in her tank?
Also, how should I clean out their tank? Lilith died in a quarantine tank, but she did live in the 10 gallon for a few days. Should I clean everything really well? Should I change the filter cartridge completely?

My guy is currently being kept comfortable until he passes (because of the dropsy)... I was going to ask the same questions about aftercare for the tank itself before introducing any new fish so I'm glad to see you had already asked.

You CAN use bleach IF you rinse, rinse, rinse really well. I think its one part bleach to 20 parts water. They say to rinse very well and sit the tank in the sun for a few days. I don't know if vinegar would kill the bacteria or not.

The bleach will work...Just make sure to rinse about 20 times! XD
And as Drama said...Leave it in the sun for a day...I have no clue why but I have read about doing this...

Do I need to use new filter media and re-cycle my tank?

I have no idea if the bacteria that causes dropsy would be in the filter or not. It would be a pain if you have to cycle all over again. You might want to ask that question in the freshwater aquarium section. Someone there should know.

I've looked up a lot of info and it seems like it is not contagious to other fish in the tank unless the infected fish dies in the same tank.
Fortunately, she was quarantined at the time, so I feel a little better about that.
I did, however, clean the tank and everything in it. I kept the filter cartridge since it was relatively brand new.
I've fixed up the tank and Anna will be back in it soon enough!
