I'd definitely say to try to find someone. The fish don't even need to be fed every day so if you can get someone to even come in twice a week, that would be fine. I'm going to be gone 2 weeks and my pet sitter will be coming every other day, once a day to feed mine.

I thought about my previous post. And after seeing where you are coming and going too...maybe you should leave the betta at home. What if you run into turbulence? Traveling is going to be stressful on your betta anyway...let alone having turbulence. I would say find someone to pet sit for you while you go on vacation. Your betta will be okay.

Pet sitting is probably your best option. Plane turbulence can cause unneeded stress on your fish. Not to mention the constant jostling by other people going, "ooh, lemme see your fish!!"

... oh wait, airlines usually don't allow liquids anymore.

So leave your buddy at home and find someone to pet-sit. :) Good luck!

i would let my sister fish sit for me but sho wouldnt clean the tank every wednsday like i do and set it up as nicly as i do like the forest and the perls in my tank and she wouldnt know how to use the betta plus if i was allowed to bring it on a plane with me i probly could get messy. maybe i can find one of my friends who have had bettas to do it

Honestly ifish, it is only for 2 weeks. Your sister could clean the tank for the first Wednesday, and what if you did the 2nd week when you got home? I mean I don't think a few extra days is going to kill your lil buddy. I feel it'd be different if you were leaving for a month or something. But two weeks really isn't a big deal.

Fish are meant to be in the water, not in the air... even if in water. Birds aren't meant to swim under the water.... well if you want to get technical then some do.

Pay someone to watch it.
