HELP ME! My new VT betta fish, Casper, who i got just yesterday, has curled fins and i just noticed that his tail fins are split in half!!!!! is that something bad??? I already have a CT betta with fin rot...i dont want another one! Please help me!! Thanks

First, is there any plants in his tank that can tear his fins? Take them out if so. Also, it does sound like it could be finrot. Go ahead and treat him as well.

He does have plants, but they dont look like they could tear his fins...so i dont know, i just hope its not finrot.

Try the tissue or panty hose test. If it tears either, then chuck em. Do you have a heater in your tank?

I agree with Angelicscars and treat for fin rot.

Don't feel bad, I'm treating my two boys for fin rot. I'm also thinking about getting my first female soon, which will probably come from Walmart, so she might have it too.

You might want to look into getting one. Betta's like their water a constant 76-82 degrees F.
