maracyn?

most of you know blues clues has popeye, it seems his eye is getting worse... well it's still big dunno if its decreased in size at all yet... i did notice his eye is now cloudy... i'm on day 3 of treating with maracyn which the girl at petco advised.... before that i attempted to treat with betta fix, really didn't do any good.... after that i tried melafix? i didn't really see improvement with that either hence why i switched his meds....

anyone have luck with maracyn? do you think i'll see better results after his seven day treatment is up? how long can it take to cure popeye?

Maracyn is an antibiotic so would be stronger than Betta Fix. The treatment runs for 5 days. I don't know how long you can use it.

I used maracyn and maracyn two on one of mine,he seems to have gotten better. Did you get the powder stuff or the bottled?

i have the powdered form... i wasn't aware it came in liquid... though blues eye looks as if it's doing worse... I think i have 1 or 2 days left of the treatment... i'm at a loss on what to do :(

I've only seen it in tablet form. If the Maracyn doesn't work, try Tetracycline by Mardel Labs. I saw it listed on Healthybetta medications made easy.

I would use Ampicillin for any bacterial infection.

One tip: I found it at PetCo :P

This brand can be ordered through www.thatfishplace.com but they don't sell ampicillin so I get it from my local PetCo. It's good because it gets sick fish to eat :)
