Ok found a treatment!!!!! Turns out I already treated it the best I could.

Me too. She is really swolen now :(

How did she get it? I don't feed live foods (never have never will) and I thought that was the cause.

I've read that Dropsy could be caused by other things and they haven't figured out all that causes it.
I'm sorry she is so swollen. :(

Well I just read now it's caused by kidney failure. I'm guessing she wouldn't poop if that happened but she's pooping so...

I added 1 drop of ampicillin to the jar and will see how she gets. She is swimming and eating normally so I think she has a slight case of dropsy that will go away on its own.

You keep the fish in a jar? It is reported that nearly ninety percent of all fish health issues can be traced to water quality or a lack there of. Can't imagine a fish living in a jar that WOULDN"T be sick frequently.

She originally lived in a 10 gallon community female tank. I was conditioning her for breeding (because I'm a breeder and don't have space for a few hundred tanks, but I wish I did).

I change jar water VERY frequently. Disease is almost unheard of in my fish room.

Well I hate to break it to you but she died last night :( She was very bloated and having trouble swimming :(
