Hi everyone, my name is Richard. I have kept fish for about 25 years and recently sold all my aquarium gear as I could not keep up with it do to work and an injury.
This was my favorite of my tanks, a planted 55 gallon:
After a couple months of having no fish withdrawal set in, so I decided I needed something that I could manage. Having kept betta's before and really enjoying them it just made sense. I went to my reputable local shop and bought a 1.5 gallon betta tank as a temporary home and to use as a quarantine tank in the future. In a couple months when I have spare cash I plan on getting an oceanic 6 with stand as a permanent home and planting it and adding some cherry shrimp and an african dwarf frog. I was not planning on buying a betta that day as I wanted time to prep the little tank, but when I saw Zeus he had to come home that day. I've had him 5 days now. He eats kamari betta and bloodworms alternated so far. tomorrow is his fasting day and sunday will be a Pea day.
Here is a few pictures of Zeus a white, blue and red crown tail, in his temporary home with a fake root system, some river stones and an Anubis Nana:
he is such a pretty boy, but a bit camera shy. It took me 45 minutes and over 100 shots to get 2 decent ones.
