Please Help!!

He is in a filtered 1g aquarium with air pump. He is listless and stays mostly at the bottom. He isn't eating the last couple of days either. I use reverse osmosis filtered aged water and the glass stone decorations in a minimal amount. It's my atistic daughters fish and I would like to keep him around. He's not acting quite right and we have been through 4 betta's 3 of which did this just before they died on us.

Does he have a heater in his tank?

No no heater. it's just a little 1gallon thing.

What is the temp of the water? They need to be in water around 78-80 degrees F.

He just got his first full water change and the temp is about 75 right now and I've got the light on to help warm it up. His temp is usually between 76 and 78 (just below the temperature of the room. I did the full change because I thought that maybe the water conditioner that also removes ammonia might have been the problem. I didn't use any water conditioner this time at all.

Major breeders (I wouldn't call my self a major breeder since I work out of a humble fish room :P) prefer to use treated tap water.

It's basic to treat tap water and get it ready for your fish:
Just get a solution of Stress Coat. It's probably the best water conditioner for bettas. THen get the water in like a jug or whatever. Put the correct doseage of Stress Coat in the tap water and wait until the tap water is of room temperture (leave the light off). Then pour the water in your tank.
You can later turn the light on and give your friend some warmth :)

You should look around for fish diseases and cures (www.bettatalk.com) and see whats up with him :)

Thank you all for your time and answers. He's swimming around the little tank now but still won't eat. He's at the top and looks like he's gasping for air.

He does need water conditioner.

Added about 10 drops of Auqasafe water conditioner but he's looking worse.

And you made sure it was the correct amount? You should condition the water before putting him in it. If you don't care for that water conditioner, there are others out there.
I prefer Prime.
