Exclamation Filter emergency!!!!!!!!!

So I have protien slick in my tank and it smells so bad, I really want to put it in tonight but I don't know if it will disturb my fish, and I feel bad! So I don't know what should I do, should I put it in tonight, or wait till morning, I'm so confused I'm new with fish and don't know what to do someone please help!!!!!!!!!! ASAP

A protein slick shouldn't smell bad or at least not IME. as for the filter go ahead & put it in, monitor it while you're up to make sure its not too strong for your Betta.

Ok thanks so I if I put it in tonight it should stress my betta too much right, and he should be okay

Just put the new filter in let's hope all goes well the water is a little foggy from all the movement, but all is good! And lets hope all is good tomorrow!

Uggghhhhh it's only been a few minutes and now he keeps going by the filter and getting pushed down by it, and yes I have it on lowest flow!!! I'm scared will he be okay and adventually get over this? Please help, or should I turn it off?

Okay so now I've but a baffle over the filter ( the current was just so strong,) if any one has any ideas please let me knowing scared and need help!!!!!!

Its not uncommon for them to be pushed down when the swim directly in the path of the filter but so long as he has calm areas to rest he should be OK. if he's struggling to swim around the tank then there could be a problem.
