Small tank real estate

I have a 1.5 gallon tank. It's occupied by a small 8W heater to keep it around 80*F, and a standard crown tail. At the moment my arsenal of toys consists of two 8" fake plants and Squidward's house.

The problem is, Squidward's house takes up a lot of space, and I'm worried that the amount of displacement it causes isn't worth the extra leg room. Because the tank is so small, should I sacrifice the hiding spot for more swim space? Downsize the cave? He's pretty active and I've never seen him chill inside of it for prolonged periods of time, but for all I know he might love it.

The other plant is a nice leafy silk plant; takes up about as much room as the green one in there at the moment.

Thanks!

Bettas love a place to hide like a cave... So if you are going to take it out I would suggest replacing it with a smaller cave .

I used to use the same tank and to be honest, while its nice, I would take it out and maybe buy a little rock for him. I had a medium silk plant and the swim thru rock plus a baby live plant and I at least thought it was good. Here's a picture of the rock. If you look thru my albums or the 1-2 gallon thread you will find a full picture.

Yeah that's a nice little rock. I'm gonna free up some tank space and save Squidward's head for later. Thanks for the suggestions!

You can always upgrade to a bigger tank

I think the rock would be a good idea since its a lot smaller...A cichlid stone would work as well.
I have 2 in my 20G for the plecos but tend to find female bettas in them. I tied an anubias plant to one of them
