There's no scientifically precise definition of genius, and the question of whether the notion itself has any real meaning is debatable. My wife is a very gifted and respected Miro-biologist at the University of Florida and hasn't got sense enough to get in out of the rain.

Yes, some really smart people have trouble applying their knowledge to real world situations.

I believe there are three components to intelligence - book smarts, street smarts and emotional smarts. A true genius exceeds at all three. That's how I see it at least.

I took an IQ test recently on some website and I got like a 137. (I'm not 100% sure what the site was or what the exact score was since the email got deleted). Also I'm 16 and in my junior year of high school.

And I have to agree with everyone else, the IQ doesn't really mean much in terms of how smart you are and how well you can do schoolwork, a job, etc. It's more of just how good you are at a certain test and the concepts used in the test.

I think 99 was considered borderline developmentally disabled. Lol

For many tests 100 is average. Intelligence distribution follows a bell curve with 100 in the middle - 110 is a little above average, 90 is a little below average and so forth and so on.

I'm twelve! My current IQ is 154. I was put into the advance program in my district when I was in 2nd grade! :) Now don't get me wrong, IG has nothing to do with knowledge. It's hard to explain but yeah. I'm pretty proud of my IQ score.
